China Bowl
About This Spot
China Bowl rests just off the main stretch of Ripon, tucked into a modest corner that invites you to slow down and settle into its quiet rhythm. From the moment you step inside, the space unfolds with a genuine, unpretentious warmth—like a familiar neighborhood nook where conversations flow as comfortably as the tea cups fill. It's a spot where the pace feels measured, offering a small pause from the bustle outside.
The atmosphere is approachable, with a sense of familiarity that makes it clear this is more than just a quick stop for takeout. Families, regulars, and first-timers alike gather here, drawn not only by the flavors but by the easygoing welcome that feels rare these days. The laughter and clatter of dishes are part of the experience, but always in balance with a calmness that invites lingering moments.
The menu reflects a thoughtfully curated balance of comforting classics and fresh takes, each plate carrying that delicate harmony between home-style satisfaction and subtle flair. Whether it's the satisfying crunch of an egg roll, the tender, flavorful garlic chicken, or the vivid harmony in a vegetable stir-fry, each bite promises a humble yet heartfelt connection to traditional flavors. Accompanying these dishes, the simple ritual of sharing rice or folding Mu Shu pancakes becomes a quiet celebration of texture and taste.
What resonates most is the feeling that the kitchen here has mastered the art of consistent care—it’s food that feels personal and steady, a reliable companion to your day whether visiting alone or with company. The unassuming charm of China Bowl lies in its ability to hold space for genuine human moments, carrying the comfort of familiar flavors alongside the warmth of a place where people return again and again.

I am so glad to have found this place on lunch! Bomb food! Great prices! And the employees are really nice! I literally come here every other week!

Cute and charming little building in the corner of the parking lot. Me and my family got: Combo plate #2 Sweet & Sour Chicken, BBQ pork fried rice & an egg roll. Chicken was nice a soft on the inside and crunchy when you bit into it. Rice was a chef’s kiss. Egg roll, was well an egg roll. Combo plate #3 Garlic Chicken, BBQ pork fried rice & foil wrapped chicken. Chicken was nice and seasoned. Garlic wasn’t overpowering and chicken had a nice crunch when bit into it. Rice was also a chef’s kiss. The wrapped chicken was nice and soft with a bit of a chewy texture when eating. Combo plate #4 Beef and broccoli, chicken chow mein and two crab ragoon’s. Beef and broccoli was nice and soft, chow mein had a good texture and the ragoon’s were nibbled and eaten by my sibling. Overall, def a hidden gem if you’re in town.

Always great food, only Chinese food within the closest 5 cities worth it, and for the truckers they will deliver to flying j and loves with a minimum order. This is the garlic chicken with steamed rice

This little place doesn't look like much from the outside. However, you do not want to miss the wonderful food they serve. The Walnut prawns are amazing. Everything we shared was so good. We had the beef and broccoli, vegetable gai pan, sesame chicken, and we also had the house chow mein I went with people that have lived their whole life in Ripon and they have never been in this place they all agreed it was the best Chinese food they've had.

Love their string bean chicken and egg drop soup. Get a side of spicy garlic chili.
